I was given a bunch of heirloom tomato seeds with no name. I’ve never grown these before. Is this ripe?

They turn more red than that. Just wait

With green-when-ripe fruit, the context of the vine ripening process is similar to that of red when ripe fruit. The first ripe fruit is lowest on the plant, coming from the first flowers that formed on the plant. Before picking, check the structure, the location of each fruit. Compare with ripeness of fruit on a plant that has red fruit.

Another way to gauge ripeness of this type of fruit is by feel. Unripe tomatoes are firm. Ripe tomatoes are less firm.

The fruit you have in this pic has yellow coloration on its skin.

Development of that skin color, with checking firmness and knowing its location on the plant, are the main ways to determine ripeness of green-when-ripe tomatoes.

Looks like a green zebra. A ripe one! They get some yellow as they ripen and feel a bit softer. Also come off the vine easier.
