My cookies were cooked yesterday. My royal icing ended up on the thicker side this time – 18/19 seconds, but I iced them as I usually do, and put in the dehydrator at 100°F. 4 hours later and they look like this. Weather wise, it hasnt been overly hot/humid where I am lately.
What’s the deal? Is it my slightly too thick icing?

Did you completely close the dehydrator? Royal icing *really* needs airflow to dry correctly. I always prop my dehydrator door open just a bit so that there’s more airflow. Lack of airflow is typically what causes these ripples.
Also four hours is a really long time to have cookies in there unless you absolutely needed to package them asap. Use it for 20-30 minutes to just make sure everything crusts and sets, then turn it off. You can leave them in there (with the door propped slightly open!) to finish drying. Four hours of hot, dry air is going to start to dry out your cookies.
