what’s wrong with my pellet smoker? i plug it in and run start up mode, and it starts smoking like this and eventually there’s a small fire. what could be causing this?

Hey that hopper is piling pellets on the burner/ damp. Let it run.

It looks like it is still starting up and looks like my pellet pooper did every time I started for 5 years.
It takes time for the heating rod to heat the pellets up and they will smolder and smoke until they get enough oxygen and then start on fire. If you have high humidity it may even take longer.

Craftsman makes a small, cheap shop vac. I have one just for the smoker. Use it before to catch the dust build up. That shit will flame up and burn your house down if you’re not careful.
