There’s an honesty box with organic eggs on the way to my work, 6 for £2.50 – expensive, but the difference in flavour and texture is incredible. None of the sulphur type smell or sliminess as the membrane attaches to the shell through ageing.
Supermarket eggs can be up to 60 days old by the time they reach you, these are pretty much still warm! If there’s a box near you, go and try it. I’m never going back
