Birdies at a 9.7 but you order on an iPad smh

ETA: I’ve been it’s good not great

  2. Dramatic_Raisin

Texas Chili Parlor. Their take on migas is amazing, weirdly. Plus, love the ambiance.

  3. I would like to know the best few things to order at house of three gorges

  4. HillratHobbit

This has to be paid advertising. I saw their “best margaritas” list and it was just as bad.

  5. DarkAncientEntity

It’s just the same places recycled over and over again. I’ve been to a lot of these and tbh I wouldn’t rate them this high.

  6. Maximus77x

Birdie’s number one? Not when I tried, it wasn’t.

  7. I really like paprika, little taco truck, and I think it’s cool that it is on the same list as all these big fancy restaurants like Jeffrey’s, red ash etc

  8. mrtucker1250

P Thai’s Khao Man Gai was really mediocre at best. Boiled chicken and pretty bland rice. I was expecting something close to Nong’s in Portland and was sorely disappointed.

Infatuation, the publication that declared Distant Relatives the best brisket in Austin? I’ll pass on their lists.

  10. WelcomeToBrooklandia

I really don’t think that Tsuke Edomae belongs on any lists like this. What’s the point of telling everyone about a great restaurant that they’ll never ever be able to experience for themselves?

  11. FlashyPeen93

Been disappointed with 80% of these places.

  12. Kombucha_Gump

KG was amazing. I didn’t try the places above it but if they are ranked higher I wish I had.

  13. dontberidiculousfool

I have no horse in this race but is this just user rating or actual official reviews?

  14. I like Birdie’s, but I don’t get the hype

I like Suerte, but I think Este is better

Not including Comedor is pretty sad

Been to Suerte twice, once just before covid and once more a few months ago. Both times the only thing I remember was that their water drinking glasses smell of sewage. Like when you keep them in the dishwasher too long.

TEXAS CHILI PARLOR WHAT. Cartoon brakes screeching sound when I got to that.

  17. PassProtect15

No wonder Pho Phong Luu was packed out this weekend. Happy for them! Great food, great people.

  18. Flipflopforager

Missing Craft Omakase, Barley Swine, and just hard no on Red Ashe, Dai Due probably deserves to be on the list but not that high.

  19. BidetMadeMeGay

I swear people are sleeping on Intero

  20. Planterizer

Birdie’s topping the list once again proves that every single food critic on earth secretly wants to be punished and abused by a chef that hates them.

I don’t get Birdies. It was not bad, but for the price just did not make sense. Wife and myself had:

Fried Green Tomatoes – 3 small slices that were good. $13
Beef Tartar – did not get the combination and take on their version. Not bad, but not great. $19
Orecchiette – basically Mac and cheese with peas and carrots for $24
Minute Steak – tasteless and tiny. $36

All in with 4 drinks and tip – $240 for counter service.

Am I just not getting the birdies hype?

Been 2x and had most of the menu. It was good but for the price and counter service model I wasn’t super impressed. I just feel like I’m missing something others love about it but I also think Nixta is oversalted and overhyped / priced and the epitome of much of what is wrong with the food scene in ATX today so maybe it is just me.
