European Business Class travel is poor, the same seats as economy with a meal thrown in and the middle seat blocked out. However Turkish Airlines is rocking a 2:2 configuration with plush seats and a five star service!

Loved this review! It's a real shame we have very few true business class products on intra European flights. Cyprus Airways used to have a great short haul business class, but sadly they don't exist anymore. From what I understand, one of the reasons behind this, is the majority of flights in Europe are under 3 hours and most people are not prepared to pay for business class on those flights and there isn't the volume of frequent flyers with status as there would be in the USA for example. Apparently short haul business or "first" class in the USA is mainly full of frequent flyers who've been upgraded.
