So I go to summerhill on occasion, I have a family member that is extremely generous and takes me as a treat here or there for a nice grocery haul. It's getting difficult to cook as often or extravagantly as I used to due to my cancer, so summerhill meals are perfect. I went today and got the gryfe's pizza bagels, I get them once in a while and I've always loved gryfe's bagels and pizza bagels! Yes at $12 for 6 it's a bit steep priced, but they seem worth it to me as a treat!
Summerhill also sells their bagels as well and I love how soft they are. They also taste different from the usual bagel spots or Montreal style/new York style bagels. Highly recommend checking out the bakery itself, it's on Bathurst Street by the Bathurst and Lawrence area.
Also I added my summerhill market haul because why not? 😂 I like random finds from speciality stores, hopefully you guys don't mind me sharing! It's fall season so I had to get the pumpkin scones, the lemon squares are great as well. And I got a very expensive mango ($6!) that is a special kind called Palmer Mango. It supposedly tastes like a tropical mix of pineapple, peach and citrus! It's GIANT by the way, like "spans across both of my hands" big.
I also have an obsession with thanksgiving dinners and always get them when I come here. So I eat thanksgiving a lot technically 😅 other dishes include classic beef stew, chicken souvlaki dinner, Sheppard's pie, some babaghanouj. Oh and if you go you can get a free $4 cookie just by checking out the weekly flyer! Just show them the QR code at checkout. The cashier was so nice she also gave me 2 free $8 a piece cookies! They are always so kind there.
Well sorry for the rant foodies of Toronto, I have no one who gets excited about food like I do so hope you don't mind me sharing!
