Having lived elsewhere, I’d say burgers are the food that LA does better than anywhere else. There’s so many non-fast food places to get a great burger here.

Of the burgers on this list I’ve had, my fave is probably Easy Street. Having said that, I never eat in, I always get delivery due to travel complications. That radically changes my ranking order I’m sure.

I’ve had 8 of 10 of these, I think if I had to choose, I’d probably go with HiHo as my go-to burger.

I have about 30 in the running- looking at your post here I’ll try to get it to 20 and then open it up for voting before I lock down the final list

Any recommendations for closer to SGV? I live in Monrovia, and would love a great smash burger but with a toddler and pregnant wife, its hard for me to get out too far.

I also agree with others that it’s harder to find good non-smash these days, but one I want to point out is Arthur J’s (manhattan beach) burger.

Try the burger at Oui Melrose, recently became my favorite! They’re a bakery so they bake their own buns, which makes a larger difference than you’d think, but also meat quality is up there and you can taste it. Fries are overpriced and a little soggy but great when asked for them “well done”
