I told her during the interview that I had plans at the end of September (told her specific days) and I agreed to work a shift for another company on the 5th, so both of those I wouldn't be able to work. She told me I HAD to cancel all my future plans if I wanted to work for her. I also told her I would be at a food show in Pittsburgh between Monday the 23rd and Wednesday the 25th, and that I wouldn't be able to respond while I was there as I would be too busy.

She TOLD (not asked, told) me I had to come in Tuesday the 24th a day or two after the interviews took place, I told her I wouldn't be able to as I would be in Pittsburgh. Everything else is in the photos.

Feel like I dodged a bullet here ngl, she was talking shit on her dishwasher during the interview, and wouldn't tell me why ALL of her chefs and line cooks quit all at once.

Potential hire:hey I working at x place on this day, y place these days, z place on these other days, so I can’t start until the 2nd

Boss: you have no work ethic!!

  3. KrazyKatz42

Mass quitting? Yeah, there’s a reason for sure.

  4. vitonga

this shit boils my blood. shitty people will always be shitty.

  5. meroisstevie

    She’s right. I wouldn’t hire you either.

  6. hawaiifive0h

Both parties dodged a bullet, no harm no foul.

Whoever the brown texts is-very rude. If that’s OP, sorry-but true.
    I wouldn’t hire.🙄

  8. jayskerman

You both seem awful. I hope this fake.

It’s called tact, my dude. Learn it and use it when communicating in all forms.

The aggression and backtalk was extremely unprofessional on her part.

Beyond that- You had communicated your availability, were not employed by them yet, and their lack of organization led to them waiting for a response. That’s someone who will continue to blame you for problems that are caused by their lack of organization.

The only thing I see OP doing wrong is not replying to the lady’s text from Monday in which she is looking to confirm availability.

Was she, herself, a cook, or is she just someone who “makes it happen”?

Golf club cooking sounds like setting yourself up with dealing with larger than usual assholes.  Great response!

  13. Vespera

I wouldn’t want to work with either tbh

“I need to move my starting date back a couple days please” followed immediately by “I have another job already lined up, I don’t need luck, my skill is enough”

Like homie…you needed a later start date lmfao what are you talking about having another job lined up?? This part alone discredited you entirely and made me spit my drink.

This shit is like asking a girl out and then calling her ugly when she rejects you

This wouldn’t have been a message to meet at the fork on 8th street was it? If it was I gotta know what restaurant this lady was hiring for lmao

  16. Giggastradamus

Wow, well now we know the reason as to why they are hiring, send the link so we can troll her hiring process

  17. adcgefd

Kinda seems like she’s the one to dodge the bullet. You were willing to work for her up until she backed out. Only then did you call out all the issues.

Why would you want to work for her up until she pulled the plug if all of these issues were present before hand?

  18. Ok_Constant_184

Normalize not responding to people who are rude

  19. CarpetDismal6204

When i was in management I would always prefer to hire people who wanted to work out their 2 wks or didn’t talk shit on or screw over their previous employer. You are 💯 right, you’re dodging one hell of a bullet
