Cheers to your new chapter. You can probably already feel the pressure being lifted from soul, enjoy!

As someone who had an uncle who went into it, make sure you don’t become a regional anything because you’ll end up just being on the road all the time Instead of at a restaurant doing basically the same hours

Kitchen alcoholics is child’s play compared to alcohol rep alcoholics, be safe out there

Brother I made the same move in 2019. Best decision I’ve ever made. Best of luck, enjoy your life.

Been a GM for a few years now and burnout is hitting pretty hard wondering where else this career path leads. Seems like distribution is the move how’d you get your foot in the door? (I assume leveraged connection from being on the other side of the industry (BUT HOW)) are they any other qualifications you have that you think helped you lock the position down? and of course congratulations/good luck.

Are you taking a financial hit? I want to get out of my position as GM but the only things I can find offering equal or more pay are other restaurants.

Congrats! 🍾
I’m going on year 6 of having gotten out of my GM gig and couldn’t be happier with my new career. You made a good choice!

5 years since I was last a chef, 4 years since I got out altogether. Haven’t regretted it for a second. Still hang around here as I like the stories.
Good luck

Best of luck to ya!

I went from being a chef to working at a grocery store. Best thing that happened in the last 5 years.
I’m home at nights (most nights), and see my friends and family way more often!
