hi everyone ! i am 22F, 4’10”, and about 115 lbs. before you ask why i’m losing weight, i feel my best at around 105. i gained weight from not being able to walk for three months and being on anti depressants. i originally was 130 but i lost 15 pounds just from being able to walk and exercise normally again.
anyway, my question is: is this much fat a day bad ??? i never tracked my calories until last week because i have struggled heavily with OCD, body dysmorphia and an eating disorder (anorexia) in the past. i’m trying to be better though. but this is just worrying me to death… i have a very bad family history of heart disease and i guess i never noticed how much fat i eat. in all honesty, i feel great eating like this. but i’m just worried for my health in the long run…
i work out every day by doing cardio because of my high risk of heart disease. my dad passed away at 41 from a heart attack. he had 98% blockages in his arteries. my mom has AFIB and was diagnosed with it at 37.
i make fun and easy meals to cope with the fact that i cant eat out like my friends can, but if this much fat a day is an issue then i will probably stick to a whole foods diet.
thanks for any advice. i would see a doctor but i don’t think they’d take me seriously on this due to being a young and “healthy” female.

Hiya! The NHS general recommendation for women is to stay under 20g of saturated fat per day. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans say <10% of total daily calories should be from saturated fat (the American Heart Association suggests ≤6%). It sounds like you’re doing a lot to look out for yourself already, so good job on that. I don’t think a doctor would make fun of you for considering your risk factors and trying to prevent heart disease; there’s no harm in asking them about concerns you have!
