Every time I run this POS it thinks I’m trying to smoke the pellets. This was after starting up using a fresh bag of pellets, a cleaned auger tube, and shop vac’d fire cup. I’m ready to donate this thing to an enemy.

  1. What pellets are you using? Do you get this with different pellets? Are you cleaning out the burn pot every few cooks?

I found k cannot use Kirkland pellets from Costco in my RT-1250 unless I clean the burn out every time. It’s not the grill but the fact that the pellets generate a lot of ash which then causes a slow ignite on the next run so it doesn’t ignite until too many pellets are in the pot, bridges to the feed tube and then back burns.

Ha! I think I got it figured out. The lid has a little L-shaped piece that keeps the lid from sealing / lets the smoke out. It seems that piece is not propping the lid up enough, so I put a little stick between the lid and grill body so it’s propped open about 1/2”. Now all the smoke is coming out the lid gap instead of the pellet hopper.

The first gen did that and they redesigned it. This shouldn’t happen anymore. It was a back pressure thing. Reach out to them.

Mine did this I had to clean out the vent holes in the back
