Sofia has some of the best street food in Bulgaria and is home to some of the most popular food in Bulgaria. Of course, to start off our day, we had to have the most popular Bulgarian food of them all, banitsa. Banitsa is the perfect food to start any day, add some Boza to it and you’ve got yourself a tasty meal.

During our Bulgarian street food tour, we tried a number of different Sofia street foods, from the princesses and mekitsa, to milinka and kyufte. One of the popular street foods that surprised us was the Bulgarian style pizza! Now, this is one very different way to eat pizza that was new to even us, Italians be warned! There were so many tasty, yummy, delicious and flavourful street foods we tasted today on our Balkan food tour. We can’t wait to continue exploring Bulgarian cuisine.
