I read that they should be red to dry them into ancho chiles, but none have gotten any more red than this reddish brown, and a few began to rot.

    You could have a chocolate variety that doesn’t turn red it looks ready to me

    Ugh, I’ve been waiting for (seems like) months for mine to turn. I’d settle for this beautiful reddish brown, great job and patience !
