Safe? Probably. Could I eat it? 100% going in the garage, probably both since it has some on it.

I’ve had a couple like this recently too. I fried them, ate them, and had no issues.

  3. You’re eating dead baby chicks. Go for it.

That does not look like blood. Look up salmonella eggs. Looks very similar.

Usually I’ve just seen a shall vein, which means the egg had been fertilized. I am okay with that, yet might have an issue finding the amount of blood you’re showing here to be appetizing. I’m sure it’s safe.

Ew I’d throw the whole carton away.

  11. Never add eggs directly to a pan, if cooking several have a bowl into which you crack them individually then transfer to the main bowl before cracking the next.

Thank you all for your input! I did some research myself and found an interesting article about another unusual egg situation – an *egg inside an egg*. It explains what causes it and whether it’s safe to eat. If you’re curious about this phenomenon too, you can check it out here: [Egg Inside an Egg: Is it Safe?](https://petsindoor.com/egg-inside-an-egg/). It definitely opened my eyes to how fascinating eggs can be!

Hello! I keep chickens and have many years of experience with all the various eggs a hen will pop out.

I don’t recommend eating this egg. The pink is the egg white like you have pictured is usually indicative of a spoiled egg. It’s likely not blood but rather bacteria.

A blood spot, on the other hand, looks like a small red dot usually located on the yolk and very rarely on the white. Eggs with blood spots are perfectly normal and safe to consume, but blood spots do not cause the white to turn pink like this.

Why would you even consider eating that? Regardless of it being safe or not.

pink egg white can mean big time bacteria. don’t eat it!

  16. TummyDrums

Eggs are cheap and quick to make. If you question it at all, just throw it out.

Well it really is a chicken period!

Eat the egg? Man, I’d throw out the pan if I were you.
