


Had 7lbs of onions laying around so I decided to can them into french onion soup. The only bummers about canning are you can’t do what you want and you can’t have a ton of fat in your jars so caramelizing these with 1.5T of butter did not work obviously. That said, they tasted delicious anyway. I kept licking the spatula after stirring. Enjoy, my onion pals

Love me some French onion soup!
For anyone who isn’t ready to upgrade to shelf stable canning but still want to meal prep, you can vacuum seal your soup and use an immersion circulator to heat it back up for easy mode cooking. I haven’t canned for a couple years and it is a quick way to reheat meals for my family. Highly recommend a chest freezer if you go this route 😅
