Figs, Mozzarella, and Prosciutto Pizza
Ingredients (for 2 pizzas):
• 2 1/2 cups (300 g) 00 flour
• 1 tsp (4 g) sugar
• 1 tsp (5 g) salt
• 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
• 1 tbsp (7 g) active dry yeast
• 3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon (200 ml) warm water
• Marinara sauce
• Fresh mozzarella cheese, torn into pieces
• Fresh figs, sliced
• Prosciutto
• Arugula
• Balsamic glaze
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the sugar in warm water and add the yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and yeast mixture.
3. Mix until it forms a dough, then knead on a floured surface until smooth, or use a stand mixer with a kneading hook.
4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with cling film, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat your oven to its maximum temperature.
6. Divide the dough into two portions and roll out each to your desired thickness.
7. Spread marinara sauce on each dough, add torn mozzarella and sliced figs.
8. Bake until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
9. Remove from the oven, add prosciutto, and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Top with fresh arugula.
10. Serve while hot!
Enjoy!
