Solid 9.1/10. Definitely above Ichiran in every aspect. Silky, light, and smooth broth that had a great miso flavor π. It also had a very slight, fishy undertone βΊοΈ. The soup was ripping hot and was quite pleasant in the current downpour π₯. The bamboo shoots were also nice and warm which is a plus because some places serve them cold and rely on the hot broth to heat them up (which decreases the temperature of the broth). The chashu was also fantastic. Nice and tender and hit the marks in terms of flavor. Took some pork, ramen, and some of the blazing hot soup in the spoon, put some of the Togarashi on top, and it was an explosion of flavor. It all melded really well together. In the bowl, there were also these bits that melted in my mouth. Super delicious. If you know what these are, please comment.
The place is really small with 11 seats or even less. It was raining hard and there was no wait. Spot on with the ambience because it was nice and cozy. IMO, this is the ramen that gives ramen a good name. A small place usually has the best food.
The broth definitely earned its mark above Ichiran. However, I wish the miso was a bit more prominent and just a hair thicker to help with the savoring process and for tacking onto the elements of the dish (ramen and pork in particular). I also wish the bamboo shoots had more flavor to them. The egg was great but it could have been seasoned more and cooked a little bit less. Other than that, it was a great bowl and I would definitely come again! (With this place being so close to my hotel, it's highly likely).
