I put a “condom” cover on mine, haha…
Also, is that delicata squash? How did you cook it?

That’s the exact reason why I want a kitchen with a giant, lift-your-hat-off style exhaust fan in the ceiling

If you have a smoke detector near your kitchen you can switch it to a heat detector. They are pretty cheap and only alert for heat not for smoke which makes them go off a lot less when cooking.
I’d only recommend this assuming you have smoke detectors elsewhere in the home.

Pull the battery, mine did the same.

You need higher quality detectors. Cheaper detectors, especially photoelectric types, go off at the most miniscule amounts of air pollution and they’re very annoying.
