I had this tteokbokki and kimbap at a Korean restaurant. What’s the sweet sauce they served with kimbap? I forgot to ask.

  1. This is technically Rabokki, which is Ramyeon + Teokbokki. Don’t know what the sauce is though. It’s not something that’s commonly served with Kimbap. Could be only for that store.

    Just from the color of it and your description of it being sweet, it looks like 매실청/Plum extract to me.

    That’s interesting, the most common thing I’ve seen served with kimbap is a broth, but even that isn’t everywhere… I’ve never gotten a sweet sauce with it before
