Was asked by a colleague to make his wife a cake for her 50th, who is a huge Cadburys chocoholic. I’m more a macaron than cake baker and this was the first time doing this kind of style. Very happy with how it turned out but agonised over the decoration. Bottom tier (10”) was Black Forest-esque with four chocolate sponges, vanilla bean SMB and kirsch spiked black cherry compote. Top tier (8”) had three chocolate sponges with homemade salted caramel and a Cadburys ganache. Outer layer is Cadburys SMB, a Cadburys milk and Bourneville dark ganache dip, and then Bourneville SMB and a ton of Cadburys chocolates in the centre with gold glitter to finish it all off ✨✨

The worst thing about this cake is the fact that I didn’t have any.
