Looks terrible. Maybe remove the onions and eat them alone to salvage it

Try using a mandolin or vegetable peeler to get those nice thin slices, then you can get it stacked nice and thick. Also, you can pickle the rest of them (why break out the mandolin just for one sandwich?) and then next time you can add raw AND pickled onions to your sammy!
