Just bought one on the left at local supermarket, hasn't been opened yet and all on the shelf looked the same.
One on the right was purchased last month at an Asian supermarket.
What's the deal with brown sriracha? Does it taste the same? Is it safe to pour on everything as usual?

It’s safe but doesn’t taste the same imo. Huy fong majorly fucked up with their jalapeño farmer, by trying to screw them over and losing, and hasn’t been able to recover since. Hence, brown sriracha. The farmer is called underwood ranch and they make probably the closest thing to the sriracha we used to know and love. Pricey, but it’s good
You haven’t heard the Huy Fong drama apparently. They were getting their peppers from a single farmer and Huy Fong screwed up the relationship by trying to financially squeeze the farmer. Now Huy Fong is having to use different peppers from other farms, which are apparently not as good and not as consistent in color. The original farmer, Underwood Ranch, now sells their own Sriracha which is supposedly pretty good.
Must be new here
Fuck around and find out. I’m glad they’ve fucked up big time.
