Not enough crust for my liking but otherwise pretty Good!

Bit more crust and get that fat rendering tad bit more and you are in rarified air for a nube.

    Nicely done my fellow human.

Let it sit in the fridge overnight uncovered so it’s completely dry, better sear for sure, and flip more, would eat

OP we gotta talk about that pan. It needs to be stripped and re-seasoned yesterday

You let it come to room temperature before searing?

Thanks for the feedback every one, I realized I needed to let the steak come to room temp. Also I probably need a new cast iron or try to strip again. I tried stripping it with vinegar, salt, and baking soda, and watched a bunch of videos on how to, so I think it’s just the pan. I’ll name sure to render the fat more on the next one! 😋

I like the idea of throwing those green beans in the juice of the steak in the same pan, I bet those green beans were friggin great!

Looks good, but the gray band is indicative of the cast iron not being hot enough. I’d wait until that thing is SMOKING hot. Not bad for your first try however.

I think it looks great, but it seems you didn’t let it come up to room temp before cooking it. The color will be a little more gradient if you do so.
