I thought it would be nice to grill without a headlamp or a flashlight. Ive tried rechargeable grill lights and they just die.

Does anyone have a dedicated 120v grill light? Im going to wire up some backyard lights this weekend and want to treat myself a bit, switch and all.

Pink: light possibilities, Purple: grill spot (don’t want to be behind the door. Also 100 bonus points if you know of an outdoor fixture that is positionable.

Don’t judge my messy bushes. Still unpacking but hedging soon!

Im using an old work light with one of those metallic bell housing on it. It’s not the prettiest but it was simple as hell to do and works great. I ended up cutting an old extension cord and wiring it directly to the light through some conduit so that it is situated directly above the grill.

The one on the house is just, no, you’ll be standing in front of it and the grill will still be in shadow.

~~I don’t get the purple.~~ edit: Oh, grill ~~spot~~ locations, not grill spot light, house mount could work (still like the overhead though)

The overhead is nice, go with that.

[This one looks nice](https://lightingnewyork.com/product/lighting/outdoor-lighting/post-lights-and-accessories/progress-englewood-post-lights-accessories-p540032-031/1753080.html), I searched for “outdoor post deck lighting” if you want to see other options.

Honestly I just bought a handle light off Amazon that looks suspiciously like a bike light and it works great, so much better then squeezing a flashlight between my neck and shoulder while I flip meat

Also, you must must trim those bushes, it will make your deck look bigger…

    What is your budget like?

Because you could buy a two pack of Devos tripod lights and then you’d have grill lights. And camping lights. And car working on lights. And power outage lights. And driveway lights. And hand lamps. And table lamps…

They’re some of the best lighting I’ve ever owned. Right now they’re on sale $175 off a the two pack with all the extras: [Here.](https://www.devosoutdoor.com/products/lightranger?variant=44422327402674)

I use a single one for grilling because I have another light attached to the house, but if I roll out onto the patio I’ll take the both out at night, put them up 9 feet and light up the whole area like it’s daytime.

  6. I use one of those lights that painters/contractors use to illuminate rooms. Extendable up to about 6’ but does cast a shadow. Used it for 8 years or so.

This fall we put in new outdoor lighting. I had the guy install 2 lights above my garage where I grill that illuminate the entire area perfectly. Probably cost me about $500 for both added on to the other lights. I’m pretty cheap by nature, but this might be the best money I’ve ever spent. Huge increase in quality of life.

Why are you grilling on your flammable
    Deck?
