Unless you want to make American style coffee… No.
It’s worse than an OL for espresso, and it’s worse than a Vertuo Plus from a reliability perspective.
Personally I think it’d be a waste of 70 quid.
But from a “how good is this deal?” perspective… That’s a sick deal!

I have a pop and I love it. I’ve had it for a year and a half. That being said, it did recently start having the blinking red light of death and it’s only brewed once since. I had to slap it a few times and clean it super well. I don’t know if it will brew again and I’m scared to try, so I’ll probably call nespresso. From what I’ve seen, it’s not an uncommon issue and it’s usually able to be fixed on your own, so hopefully mine is fine. The coffee it makes is really good and it’s a great size for a small countertop. It’s also my first nespresso though so I’m partial lol

I’ve been seeing a lot of “ broken “ post about this model. Always a great deal under $100 or so and then after a few months it’s dead and needs replacement.

I read into Pop as I was tempted by the smaller size, but was put off by the fact reviews said the clearance to get a mug under the spout was tiny, so it would be impossible to get a travel mug under. I then considered the Next but read reviews that said it’s not great. But I’m halfway to talking myself into it, since Nespresso are really good with repairs and replacing so it’s less of a gamble if it does break down (I have a Vertuo Plus and have had it for about 5 years. It broke down after a year or two and they sent it for repair, then it broke again and they replaced it and the replacement has been fine for three or four years now). I think they make their money from the pods, so they practically give the machines away. With the 50 free pods, as well, you’re only really paying £35ish for the machine in the end (at £70).

I just got the Pop+ a few weeks ago and so far really like it. My needs weren’t complicated; just wanted something that could quickly and easily make espresso or coffee- expecting a baby soon so was trying to prepare really. I’m not overly concerned with perfect taste or making giant portions. Speed and simplicity were my biggest factors.
Plan is to clean and descale regularly or as recommended by Nespresso in the hopes it will last and hold up for me. Got everything registered with Nespresso though so hoping if anything goes wrong they’ll have options and either way it was inexpensive enough I’m okay with it.

I have an OL and recently purchased a Vertuo Pop. I love it, and I feel that it makes better coffee than my OL. I also have a Breville Barista Express and whilst I do love making espresso with that and playing around with fresh beans, I totally love my Pop and use it at least twice a day.
