A while ago I ordered chirashi that came with a slice of lemon on it and did not like it at all. I wouldn’t be happy to get home, open the bag, and see this.

The reason actual Japanese sushi chefs, even in high end restaurants, make every piece by hand with no gloves and no decor is to ensure the natural flavors of the ingredients shine. This just goes to show how little this restaurant’s chefs do not understand what sushi is actually about.

Lemon really just does not go with fish. I know some people like it over cooked white fish but it just takes away from the natural flavors of the dish

I hate when I open up the delivery box and see this. Imo it ruins the sushi/sashimi since the lemon ‘cooks’ the fish so some of it is a different taste and texture.

I’ve enjoyed some sushi dressed sparingly with citrus zest, but the pulp is too sour.

Lemon is sometimes used to hide the fact the fish is off slightly.
If I wanted ceviche I’d have ordered it.

Love lemon with some rolls but this is a bit much lol

I have never tried it with lemon. How was it?

Sicilian lemon makes sushi terrible.

What I’ve noticed is the more lemon used, the worse quality the fish is, they try to hide it with the lemon

The Lemon is just a garnish.. 🙄

I personally love lemon with raw salmon after having a roll that had thin sliced lemon on it. Sometimes I’ll order iced tea with extra lemon on the side so I can squeeze some on my salmon, especially for spicy salmon since that is sometimes made with less fresh fish.

putting lemon on sushi is a gas station sushi move, it oxidizes the fish and turns it white and makes the flavor uneven, lemon on the side is exotic lemon on top is Shell station

Takeout with lemon …the lemon should be separated …but a little lemon rind / pulp in a salmon roll…is the best

Yeah I’m not a fan of lemon on sushi. I don’t get it. But that’s also probably because I hate sour things.

I don’t like lemon on my salmon, but I love it on my yellowtail
