This isn’t exactly surprising for the UK. A lot of the studies showing negative results from being vegan are based there. The quality of produce in the UK is horrible.

This is based on the Nova scale where cow milk is Nova 1 unprocessed and soy or oat milk is Nova 4 UPF. Meat is also Nova 1.
Remember, never trust a statistic that you didn’t fake yourself.

according to the nova scale, a piece of chicken isn’t UPF but obviously a bunch of quorn meat free nuggs or whatever are going to be so this isn’t really surprising imo. i do think there’s something in focusing on non-UPFs but this claim doesn’t feel reflective of someone who cares about their diet.

Not every vegan is health conscious or immune to sugar dependency.
