I’d call this a success. Does anybody else buy like 3 extra turkeys to freeze and use throughout the year when they’re on sale?

You buy extra turkeys, freeze them, and then only use them when the price in store drops? What does the price in store have to do with when you can use the frozen turkeys? Why not just use them when you want?

For sure. They drop in price after TG, and it’s a great deal. I got a pretty nice, organic turkey for .99/lb last year.

The other smart thing to do is make brother from the smoked turkey and freeze it. The next time you have one, the broth is done, so you can make the gravy in advance. Then make the new carcass into broth for the next one…

They dropped the price to .69 cents a lb in the three weeks leading up to Thanksgiving I ended up with 4 extra to use throughout the year.

I’ve got 4 in the freezer now bought at $0.33/lb from Meijer. Love classic turkey and gravy but we also make a soup and a turkey salad that’s great.
