2005 Ch. SmithHautLafite – wonderful. Fruity. Lovely nose. In its prime. Crowdpleaser. Decanted for 30-45mins before the flavors were really singing.
2010 VCC – smooth Rich and powerful. Men all liked it, wives did not. Took a while to open up, decanted for 1.5hrs
1994 Ch.Palmer – banger straight out of the bottle. Yes please pour me another.
1985 Poyferre – past its prime but drinkable. No nose. Tasted somewhat empty. Wife described it as vapid. Its my birthyear so I am biased, but ended up being the only one drinking it.

Always thought VCC was an underrated producer. I’ll have to pop a bottle and see if the wife agrees or not 🙂
Lovely
Thanks for the invite
I’m not American so every year on this sub I see people posting the GC Bordeaux they’re drinking on Thanksgiving and wonder — are you all having them with turkey and yams?
Or change the food so that the pairing fits these bolder wines better?
How was Leoville? We visited the tasting room this past summer and bought some to ship home, but haven’t opened any of them yet.
