Well you can't win them all.

Got this from auction around 6 months ago. Decent bottle condition and fill. But once I peeled back the foil and saw we had seepage and some nice fuzziness, I took the photo after I wiped the top. Had to use a razor to scrape some caked on ring. Was able to almost get the full cork out but that last bit broke off.

The nose was immensely barn yard funk, straw, musk. Decanted with very little sediment. First taste was very bitter and it sour fruit notes and mushroomness. Set a timer and tasted every 15 minutes over the next couple hours. But unfortunately even after some of the funk died off, the sour notes showed more and more. You could get hints of what this used to be but very masked by it being past it's prime. Would have been nice to taste the forrest and fruit that this wine used to be.

Ended up opening a 2002 Anomaly instead. Might post about that later

It’s hit and miss with these sixties bottles 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for sharing. One of those “better luck next time” experiences I guess. Bit of a lottery with the older bottles, I’ve found.
