This is my first time having Brouilly, so I cannot say if anything about this is producer specific. This is fuller bodied (normal for the appellation), but that mostly comes in the form of a jammier profile – not as much my “jam.” I probably should have expected this.

It’s a fine Gamay, and has all the wonderful cranberry it should have. Still a distinct French style, but after having to deal with my parents’ fruit bomb $15 California reds I was hoping for something a bit more austere.

$21 though – still good value!!

Cheers and happy holidays everyone – from me and my Cru Mutt.
