A little late to post, but wanted to share a couple of the bottles we enjoyed for Thanksgiving.
2014 López de Heredia Viña Gravonia Crianza:
Probably one of the most interesting white wines I’ve ever had. 100% Viura. Old saddle leather dominates on the nose with hints of orange and lemon peel. Also incredible leathery on the palate. Eventually fades into tobacco, honey, lemon and peach. Despite being a crianza, this spends FOUR YEARS in American oak.
1987 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot:
This one was a gift for my stepdad. His father’s favorite wine was always Duckhorn merlot, so for his birthday I tried to find one with some age for him. Despite being almost 40 years old it’s still holding up very well. Still some fresh red fruit on the nose, as well as oak and forest floor. Incredibly soft body, notes of cherry and allspice on the palate. Decanted and drank over the course of an hour.

Those are some nice wines.
I love the look of the vintage Duckhorn label!
Neat! Both super interesting wines.
The Gravonia is great but the Tondonia blanco is stratospheric
