Ketchup noodles

No you shouldn’t… It’s a unique dish with an interesting history, but it isn’t particular good. There’s much better yoshoku dishes out there.

Just made it for dinner tonight. Sooo delicious 😋

I make this now and then because it’s super cheap haha. I love wafu pasta but Napolitan probably isn’t my fav.

Nagoya has the best set of local specialties in the country but ketchup on spaghetti ain’t it.

670 yen for that? Kinda expensive. Tastes good though, right?

No, but I’ve made a shrimp tomato based pasta recipe by a Japanese person, and I’ll be honest it wasn’t that great – but maybe it’s because I wasn’t expecting such flavours from pasta haha

I don’t want spaghetti with ketchup

there’s a great spaghetti restaurant in sf j-town!
‘on the bridge’ in the mall! love going there to have a niche ‘spaghetti’ (the curry is the best), drink a chuhai, and read a manga from one of the shelves 🙂

Ketchup sketti? No thanks.

Wafu pasta is nice. Sometimes it’s mayo cream mentai though

If any non-japan nation does pasta with ketchup reddit wwould be crying war crime.

Now try putting a tiny bit of curry powder in it. maybe one third of a teaspoon

Nah… Napolitan may not quite be ‘ketchup pasta’ but it’s still like kids’ food.
Hand-made pasta restaurants do make their pasta very well, but the price is way more than I’m ever happy to pay. Carbonara is not a ¥2000+ dish.

I have made this before at home. It’s ok, was very salty.

I was in Japan more than a decade ago, it was very cash based country. I heard that recently that changed a lot.
I’m going to be back next year, would you say I need some hard cash to make it around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka?

naporitan is like the kraft macaroni and cheese of japan. everyone secretly loves it.
