Dropped by Black Star Co-op tonight to grab a pint, and was greeted with this sign and a closed shop. https://imgur.com/a/IhFzwkX

Went a couple weeks ago and they were down to 5-6 beers on tap (normally they have 10-14 beer offerings they brew in-house), and the kitchen offerings looked scrappy. Combined with the last few posts I've seen here, it seems like they either have one foot in the grave or possibly just won't reopen if they've already been shut down 48-ish hours.

A damn shame because the concept is amazing, and as a regular patron I've enjoyed their beers over the years despite the management and food challenges. Hopefully they make it, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.

They had a water heater crap out. No hot water, no service.

I mean, I’m impressed they’ve lasted this long.

I thought they were already closed. Drove by several times and couldn’t tell.

Their Instagram said the water heater is out and waiting on someone to come fix it. Might just be temporary

  5. Looked through the posts to see if there’s anything worth being concerned about it so far it’s just overheard rumors (with 0 context) and their water heater being out and then people assuming something is horribly wrong with the 0 context they themselves have lmao. None of this is death knell worthy unless I guess if you want it to be?

Their closing rumors have happened every year for many years

  7. The lack of any semblance of research (like checking the Brewery IG) is comical. This reads like a NextDoor post that’s an unfiltered stream of consciousness.

What a silly overreaction. Buildings have things in them that can break and need repairs. Restaurants are inside of buildings.

I used to work at a restaurant in an old building that had to post something like this a couple times a year. They’re still open.
