1 tbsp butter in the center

To taste: salt, pepper garlic powder, paprika, old bay.

2 tbsp melted butter mixed with the same seasonings.

    50 mins at 350F

Overall pretty dang good. This was a large onion so I would cook it longer than the 50 mins I did and my “season to taste” was not quite enough.

Obviously use any seasonings you like.

Was there an internal temp you were aiming for or just it looking done?

Your sous-chef seems concerned. Did she try it first?

Fun fact: you can just chuck a whole onion on a baking sheet and bake it like a potato, no need to even skin it. It obviously won’t be quite as tasty as if you baked it with butter and spices and stuff, but you can add that at the table anyways, and obviously it massively cuts down on prep work required, so it’s great for weeknights. I usually roast sweet onions like this (Vidalias when I can find them), and they’re awesome as an easy side to just about anything.

Ohhhh look at that good girl waiting for a snack… what a beautiful dog!! Oh, and that onion looks mighty good, too lol.

  6. Someone i know used to core a Vidalia onion, pack it with a couple bouillon cubes and butter, then coat the whole thing in butter. Wrap in aluminum foil and let it cook on the charcoals while you’re cooking your meat

I thought this was a really fat scallop lol
