It was my daughter’s birthday, not perfect but I’m happy with how it came out.
I baked her a two layer funfetti cake. It was my first time piping and doing a two layer cake.
Still need to practice more but I plan on being perfected by birthday 18!

It’s beautiful! I can tell you as someone whos mom made every one of my birthday cakes growing up, I always love looking back at photos of her creations and marvel at all her hard work and the ideas she’d come up with! I’m sure your daughter will do the same! 🙂

I used to use two pans, one round, one square. Then cut the round in half to make a heart, by placing rounds on the square. Only one layer bc it was the two of us. Too poor to buy heart pans, back then.

My mom made all my birthday cakes growing up – she was very talented decorating using all frosting, as this was well before fondant became popular. I remember them all – I couldn’t believe they were for ME! She’s now in hospice, but these are the memories that make me smile and remember who she was as a mom and as a person. I’m sure Sophie will feel the same 🙂
