Made this last week as per my bf’s request. I also followed the Practical Peculiarities recipe on YouTube, but scaled the recipe down to make a smaller cake since it’s just the two of us.

I made 2/3 of the cake batter and split it into two 8-inch cake tins, and I halved the frosting recipe.

It was absolutely delicious, maybe the best cake I’ve ever made. We ate half of it within the first few days and froze some slices to eat later this week.

    Omg this looks soo good! I just messaged it to my SIL and told her I’ll pay for the ingredients if she makes it and we can all share it. She is a baker. I could make it too and I might but I’m a little worried about how it would turn out at my elevation, 7200 ft
