SAGINAW CO., Mich. (WNEM) – In Saginaw County, Jonnie on the Spot is preparing to hold its second annual Christmas dinner blessing.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, beginning at 10 a.m., the Bridgeport company will give about 260 meal kits to those struggling in a drive-up event at its Dixie Highway site.
The kits, which can feed a family of four, contain everything you need for a Christmas meal: a turkey, sides, and desserts.
David LeRoux, the owner, said Christmas is about giving back.
“I’ve been blessed throughout my life and my heart is giving back to the community,” he said “It’s something for our employees to also experience. They donate their time and last year they were really touched by seeing people’s reaction to us giving out those meals and it’s just a rewarding experience for everybody.”
Santa Claus will be at the Christmas dinner blessing giving gifts to kids and Larry the accordion player will be playing the songs of the season.
LeRoux said he believes it will be busier this year, so anyone interested in attending should get there early. The event ends once the kits are gone.
