After a couple of lackluster results, I'm finally happy with a loaf.

Tried a few different recipes and for one reason or another they always came out disappointing. I gave up on loaves and my family raved about my focaccia, so that was my sourdough fix for some time.

A couple of weeks ago I had a craving and pulled out my bannaton. I found the lazy man's sourdough recipe and gave it a shot. To everyone who has had success with this recipe, well I'm happy for you lol, because I wasn't impressed. Perhaps it was the baker and not the recipe.

The desire to bake a good loaf was reignited, so I found the bread code on YouTube and decided to give it a go…one last time before throwing in the towel on loaves for good.

Glad I gave it another shot!

Recipe:

400g KA Bread Flour
288g Water (72%)
80g Starter (20%)
8g Salt (2%)

Pretty much followed the Bread Code's technique. Added a couple of ice cubes into my DO and baked @ 425 for 30 min w/ lid on. Took the loaf out of the DO and cooked for additional 20 min.
