Frozen wontons, two handfuls of frozen shrimp, a can of chicken broth, and green onions. That’s it. That’s the recipe. It’s a 38oz bowl.

Wonton soup really is the best. It’s my favorite go to when I want something super easy, fast, filling – and enjoyable.

I like to use equal parts frozen wontons to frozen chopped broccoli and/or cauliflower. You can add all of it to the water and they cook in the same amount of time. I have a sweet tooth, so once it’s ready I throw in a quarter cup of frozen green peas too. This week I bought some Chinese barbecue pork, so my wonton soup is about to get fannnnnncy! I know what I’m having for lunch…

Looks great! Costco has those frozen with same values.

If you want to level it up, simmer the onion scraps & some ginger slices in the broth for ten minutes first then discard, add white pepper before serving & if you want to use the cals, some sesame oil. I’ve just got some pak choi so this soup is on my agenda for the weekend.

  6. Is it just plain chicken broth, or do you add something to it to taste like restaurant wonton soup?
