This is my first attempt at overwintering my peppers. I live in Chicago so I need to bring them in. Is it bad if they’re starting to grow leaves this early? Would it be better if I continue to prune them back throughout the winter?

Keep ’em on the dry side to keep them slumbering.

Peppers do not need a winter break. Just let them grow for now, water normally, and cut back any useless growth in early spring when you put them into fresh soil and bigger pots.
