ANTHONY, Fla. (WCJB) -Christmas is just around the corner, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by coming together as a community. The Anthony Women’s Club hosted a cookie swap and food drive.

Chocolate chip, sugar, and peanut butter cookies were just some of the delicious treats available at the event. They even offered hot chocolate to accompany the sweets. However, the event wasn’t solely about indulgences.

The club is collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries for the community’s blessing boxes. The items donated today will help support those in need throughout the holiday season.

“We are absolutely allowed to give all year long, whether it’s yard sale items, non-perishable goods, toiletries, or food. Any of those things that we are able to give out and share with the community through our yard sales are available for anyone who wants them,” added Carmen Ortiz, president of the Anthony Women’s Club.

This is the first year they have organized the cookie swap, and they are hopeful that this delicious event will help them gather more items for their blessing buckets.
