Help! Is it safe to assume that nothing is wrong with my batter?

I noticed when I started putting my tray far back in the oven, that’s when my macarons crack.

what’s your oven thermometer say? How much does the temperature fluctuate as you bake a batch?

Tray location can totally be a variable. I think it’s probably the most difficult part of the process because everyone’s oven is so different!

I’d also say resting might have something to do with it, but people have wildly different resting protocols and get wildly different results.

I only rested for 30 minutes yesterday, live in an already humid climate *and* it was raining yesterday. No cracks for me. Then again, I dried by a fan for extra insurance.

Mine too sometimes. Rest a bit longer and maybe this indicates you need a lower temp. Check temp when starting each batch and allow temp to get back up for second batch if you decide to lower temp. I bake at 270 and if I don’t check batch 2,3 & 4 it’s usually not reheated enough between batches.
