2 would seem safe for a more experienced spicy food eater. Anything above would just be uncomfy I feel

??? Pick 6 and put a note to make it as hot as they possibly can
BigJohnOG
I would select 6, the hottest without thinking about it. What is your heat tolerance?
It is kinda odd, normally I see 10 levels of spice from Thai places.

You can only make birds eye chilis so hot
Now if they’re using extract or something…

This is why I bring my own ghost pepper flakes when I eat out. If it ain’t spicy enough I add more. What restaurant in Charlotte is this?

Select Normal spicy and add a note to make it authentic, meaning actually normal.
I’m not paying for murderously spicy food, I’m paying for authentically spiced cuisine; In my experience if they provide a scale of say 0-5, “authentic” is either a 4 or a 6, and it always tastes like shit when they try to make it bloody hot for no reason.
Except for Taste of India near me. They ask between mild, medium, hot, spicy and very spicy. Very spicy is a bit of black pepper, and if you ask for “back home” spicy they look really excited and start a new batch from scratch. If the scale they provide goes to 5, then “authentic” is a 387, only because their 5 is as spicy as licking a penny.
Spice isn’t a thing where I live, it’s sad.

There was a ramen place I lived near that offered 1-10 spicy. I almost picked 10, but decided on 5 because I’d never ordered from there before. I’m glad I did.

6…it’s not the size
It’s how it’s used

If this is NC Noodle Bar, anything over 4 just adds more cayenne peppers and isn’t worth it. We order there a lot and it’s great, but the spice is mediocre.
