I haven’t had Five Guy’s since nursing school and I forgot how good they were. Also forgot how expensive they were too! Almost $22 for a burger, fries and a drink? Good grief.

That being said, it’s a good thing the wife and I decided to split an order because it was VERY filling due to their renowned generosity with their delicious fries. In the future, I could see myself just getting the mini burger, no fries and being satisfied.

Kinda crazy how they also have review articles around the restaurant stating back in 2010 you got the same meal for $9…not depressing at all.

Overall, this is one is definitely in my top 5 burgers and I’d get it again if I was too lazy to make my own.

  1. Definitely a good burger but the cost keeps me away. Thankfully, there’s a few other good burger places around here where I’m at.

For an every once in a while treat?

    You can’t beat it.

It’s 14 bucks for the same order at McDonald’s except they got that mealworm burger patty instead of 100% fresh ground beef like five guys. Worth the extra 8 bucks imo

Delicious every time, but so goddamn expensive.

I don’t mind spending the money at all. They taste fantastic and it’s a nice one a month treat. They never fuck up our orders, too.

I understand 5 Guys popularity, but I know that I, and probably most people in this sub, can do just as well if not better for cheaper at home.

5 Guys is a good solid burger, but if I can do just as good, or better in my house, then I don’t need your restaurant.

Did Five Guys actually stiff you a piece of cheese??

  8. notguiltybrewing

Yup, too much food and too expensive. I go occasionally and get a single burger and skip the fries unless I have someone to share them with.

Yeah, when I used to go I would just get the burger and no fries or drink and it was maybe 6 or 7 dollars. Now it’s closer to 10 for just the burger. It is always good though.

if you think about it five guys has better burgers then some sit down restaurants, so I think it’s worth the money

  11. Five guys, Rocks, unfortunately, it rocks your wallet also, lol. I still go there. They are hard to beat.

  12. Primary_Dimension470

I think in 2009 that was like $16, not $9 so don’t feel too bad. It’s still overpriced but at least you know what you’re getting unlike some sit down places

  13. I get them to go, never buy a drink (water guy) and split the fries with another if I get them at all. Price is perfectly fine that way and it’s so far beyond normal fast food burger quality. Easily worth it for what I’m looking for in a burger.

A regular double cheese is $10.69 in my area. Single patty cheese is $8.69.

Everybody complains about the price, but nobody’s ever said they make a bad burger! Five guys rules.

Once a year treat, I’ll take a personal loan out 😂

  16. Is five guys doing marketing on reddit or something?

  17. Jaded_Assistance_906

I’ve learned any burger that comes wrapped in a foil type wrapper, are the best.

    I don’t discriminate, Five Guys/In n Out/Culver’s/local greasy spoons all hit.

What does your nursing schooling, have anything do with your burger? Does it make everything taste better? WTF? Should I state my credentials for this comment?

  20. forestgeist

Yeah five guys is expensive but sometimes it is worth it. I worked there for a few years and I can tell you Five guys doesn’t fuck around only the freshest ingredients everyday.

  21. Spiritual_Highway_60

The fact about Five Guys is that we can make the same quality burger at home. Every single member of this subreddit can probably make a burger better than Five Guys and cheaper than 22 bucks. I buy Five Guys like everybody else and I bitch and moan about the price like everyone else.
