GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A chef in Alachua County is serving vegan dishes this year, hoping to help people relieve some of that Thanksgiving Day stress in the kitchen.

Chef Bambi Liss owns Bambi’s Organic Country Farm, a business in High Springs selling healthy, homemade dishes.

After her storefront closed in February, she says business has been looking different.

“Since closing I’ve been doing local farmers markets, doing a little bit of traveling, and working on renovating the kitchen so we can do more food production from there,” said Liss.

Now, she’s packing up trays of pasta, mashed potatoes, and other Thanksgiving sides to sell at the San Felasco Market in Alachua. She did all the prep work at the Working Food kitchen in Gainesville, alongside her former employee Angel.

“To me, it’s the stuffing and it’s the sweet potatoes and all that good stuff that makes a good Thanksgiving meal,” she said.

Liss says it’s ‘farm fresh food’ and grew some ingredients at home, then incorporated them into her dishes. About one pound of food will cost $12.

“I do this for anyone who wants to have delicious healthy food,” said Liss. “That’s why I do this.”

Chef Liss is selling her dishes at San Felasco Tech City in Alachua from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The market is located at13900 Tech City Cir, Alachua, FL 32615.
