Went to Michuu Ethiopian recently, new place that opened earlier this year, and wanted to highlight it as another solid Ethiopian spot.

Pictures are terrible but first one is of sambusas. Crisp and light dough, not too oily. Got both chicken and lentil and was surprised at how good the lentil ones were, uniquely spiced with nice amount of heat.

Next picture is of the vegetarian sampler. Really enjoyed the texture of their injera, chewy, not brittle (a criticism I’ve had of Selam). The beets and carrots were excellent as were the multiple lentil dishes. For me the sampler was on par with Demera. Liked some of the veggie options better here, some there. Can’t speak to the quality of the meat dishes from either place.

Something to note: it could be because I arrived late in the evening, but they did not seem to have everything available on the menu. It does strike me as a place where the chef rotates what they want to make that day. The sampler was also chef’s choice. If you’re willing to go knowing you’re taking that risk, I got what was recommended and it was great.
