Hello Reddit! I am fairly new to Reddit and for my first post, I decided to share the wines I had on my recent flight from Boston to Dubai.
On the ground before take off, a generic Verve Cliquot(not pictured) was served. Once the doors latched but while still on the ground, a 2015 Dom Perignon was served.
Once the flight took off, I had a couple glasses of the Dom Perignon P2 with the caviar service. As I was tasing the champagne with the caviar, I thought the 2015 vintage DP would have paired better with the caviar but the P2 was delicious nonetheless.
With my meal I had two different white wines. The 2016 Ermitage de l’Orée and the Cotton Charlemagne Grand Cru. I got prettyyyyy tipsy after a couple of glasses and don’t remember too much (oops). But I do remember really enjoying the white burgundy.
I substituted my dessert course with a glass of Dow’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port. I admittedly don’t know much about dessert wine to make any judgement on the quality.
After my nap, I opted for a tasting of three red wines: Chateau Morton Rothschild 2003, Opus One 2013, and Richard G Peterson Pinot Noir 2021. Of the three, the Chateau Morton Rothschild really stood out and I ordered another glass of it.
I have included the wine list from the flight for anyone who is interested.

Jesus Christ!
Lmao what
Are we too uncultured? Should we be tasing our wine and caviar?
Stunning. The last time I flew BA F I was offered a £9 bottle of NZSB. Never again.
This is amazing!
Before flight: I might have one or two glasses, I’m sure the wine will be good.
During flight; fuck it. These wines are insane, I’m gonna turn this into a mini wine party with naps!
Love it!
yeah lemme just take out a few more mortgages so i can experience this
Well alright then
I’ve never flown 1st class in Emirates but their reputation precedes them like no other, bar none. Almost every carrier is downgrading their wine lists and very few can say to be impressive but Emirates is just in a class of is own and it’s just ridiculous. Cheers to Emirates.
Must be a lot of non-drinkers on that flight. Thanks for subsidising us guys!
Incredible wines. I just can’t for the life of me enjoy drinking/eating on a flight. I always feel like I’m forcing myself to enjoy myself when I’m simply not. These days I make sure I’m fed and watered on the ground and as soon as the plan is in the air it’s eye mask on bed flat and see you on the other side.
Now those wines on the ground around a table with some good food…

Bloody hell what a line up 🔥🔥
Glad to see you drank your money’s worth!
So.
Mile hack emirates first class
Drink wine
Profit.
Alternatively
Pay out the ass for emirates first class
Drink all the wine to subsidize cost of first class
Think if you drink enough, it’s like paying for economy and those bottles.
If I saw that p2 04, I’d just ask them to leave me the bottle
Slightly disappointed that Sauternes is not an Yquem but I guess they had to save cost somewhere
And curious what the somm choice was
Just curious how did they taste compared to at ground level. From what I understand, because of the lower cabin pressure at altitude, things taste a little off. Was there a noticeable difference?
Wow! Stunning selection.
How much was the flight ticket?
What a great line up. Makes having to visit that cess hole Dubai almost palatable
I would not have slept that flight
If you added all the money that i have spent so far on flying it would still be short of what you drank there
Proper first class
That’s a mighty fine selection of in-flight beverages.
Holy shit…
With 50% of personnel costs (to European carriers) and 30% of fuel costs, Middle-Eastern carriers have the flexibility to spoil their customers.
Almost a waste, your palate is less pronounced at high altitude
