My wine club managed to get two bottles of Petrus 1989 for a good price on auction. We recently opened a bottle to celebrate the birth of my daughter. If I could describe it in one word: extraordinary. My notes:

Very floral with leather, graphite, cedar, cherries, dried plums, smoked meat, mushrooms. Harmonious and complex, this was a symphony of flavours that continued to evolve in the glass over time, with a finish that went on and on. Truly a vin d’emotion that has to be experienced first-hand, words simply don’t do it justice. This still has years left in it, which is amazing for a 35-year old wine! 100 points

Cheers and happy holidays to all!

Lovely! How much did you pay for them?

  2. Amazing! Congratulations!

This is definitely my bucket list wine.

How long did you open it before drinking? Any decanting?
